YOGA GARDEN ON THE RIVER KUPA

Dear Yogis,

I’ve always dreamed of creating a green oasis where yoga practice, meditation, and retreats could flourish—a space where people could reconnect with nature and its healing powers, a sanctuary for health and happiness.

After my father’s sudden passing, a man deeply connected to nature, a lover of mountains, and a true yogi, I inherited a piece of land near the Kupa River. My father spent his days in the hills of Dinara, Croatia’s highest mountain, producing the finest honey. Upon his death, I realized how unpredictable life is, and how every moment truly matters.

I went to visit the land, just to check on it, but when we tried to leave, the car wouldn’t start. Instead of being discouraged, we decided to explore the surrounding area. We discovered a beautiful forest and hidden beaches by the Kupa River, a clear call to reconnect with nature and a sign to take action.

The very next morning, I received another sign. A phone number that had last appeared three years ago—a man named Srećko, which means “Happiness”—who specializes in gardens and small houses. My partner Svemir, whose name means “Universe,” had taken time off, and we had planned a trip to the coast for some camping. But as the Universe would have it, Svemir said, “Instead of the Adriatic Sea, let’s go to work on the Kupa land.” We called Mr. Srećko, and he was immediately available to help us! 🙂

For three days, we worked tirelessly, cutting through thick underbrush, wild grass, and thorny trees beneath the scorching sun. We cleared one-fifth of the land, just enough to begin creating the foundation for a small wooden forest house and a yoga platform.

With the help of Svemir (Universe) and Srećko (Happiness), I took the first, hardest step toward realizing my dream.
